John Bowles Knox

-Began painting in 1958 at the School of Design, NC State University

-Studied under Duncan Stuart and George Berline

-1968-2002 Founding partner in a architectural design firm

-1994, resumed painting

-My work has been from photos, en plein aire and models

-Recent work includes buildings, landscapes, sunrises and sunsets

-I paint using oil on canvas and board with knife and brush

-My style is bright colors, impressionistic, and abstracted realism

-I currently live on a sailboat and have an art studio in Oriental, North Carolina
